Hi, I’m Whitney Rominger, LPC.

I bring warmth, curiosity, and an active presence to therapy. I’m interested in helping you make sense of what is happening without reducing complicated experiences to a diagnosis, a coping skill, or a single explanation.

My goal is for therapy to be a place where you can think openly, notice what you may not be able to see from inside a pattern, and work toward changes that make sense for your life.

I’m engaged and collaborative in sessions. I listen closely, reflect patterns I notice, and help us slow down moments that may otherwise happen automatically. My role is to help us understand your inner world, consider perspectives that may be difficult to access on your own, and create room for you to make choices with greater clarity and trust in yourself.

Our sessions may move between what is happening in your life right now and deeper exploration of the experiences, relationships, beliefs, or protective patterns that continue to shape how you respond. Sometimes the work is practical and focused. Sometimes we need to stay with something longer and understand it more fully. We can adjust the pace and focus together.

Background & Training

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 13 years of experience in mental health, including over five years in private practice. I earned my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Houston in 2014. I’m licensed to provide psychotherapy in both Texas and Delaware.

My work is relational, trauma-informed, and person-centered. My training and approach draw from EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. I use these frameworks flexibly rather than expecting a particular model to fit every person or every concern.
